Jeroen Krabbé is an actor, director and producer.
Born in Amsterdam, he made his film debut at the age of 19 in Fietsen
naar de maan and subsequently
appeared in films such as The Little Ark (1972), Word War
III (1982),
Jumpin’ Jack Flash and No Mercy (1986), which brought him to the
attention of the Bond producers.
In 1987 he was cast as the villainous Georgi Koskov opposite new Bond
Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights, and subsequently went on to star
in films such as Scandal (1989), Till There Was You (1990) and tv films
Secret Weapon (1990), Robin Hood (1991), Dynasty:
The Reunion (1991)
before returning to the large screen in Prince Of Tides and Kafka (1991),
The Fugitive (1993), Ever After (1998), An Ideal
Husband (1999) and Fogbound (2002) – which he also
served as associate producer on.
His directorial assignments include The Discovery Of Heaven (2001) and
Left Luggage (1998).
Notable TV appearances include Miami Vice and The Young
Indiana Jones Chronicles.
It is his role as a Bond villain that he says has given
him “a
gold stamp in my passport” and it is a role he is particularly
proud and fond of.
