Joe Robinson - or "Tiger Joe" as he was known when a professional wrestler - made his film debut in Carol Reed's A Kid For Two Farthings in 1955, opposite Diana Dors.
Often cast of the "strong man" in features, Joe also worked on the other side of the camera as a stunt performer. His other film roles include The Flesh Is Weak, Action Stations, Fighting Mad, Sea Fury, The Two Faces Of Dr Jekyl, The Bulldog Breed, Carry On Regardless, The Loneliness of The Long Distance Runner, and Doctor In Distress.
In 1971, he was cast as Peter Franks in Diamonds Are Forever and in a carefully orchestrated fight sequence, in the confined space of an elevator, brought a great tension to a fight - last seen in From Russia With Love aboard the Orient Express.
Joe has also starred in popular tv series such as The Saint and The Avengers.
He has also worked, with his brother, on Honor Blackman's book of Self Defence, run his own gym and remains active in the world of Keep Fit.
