Madeline Smith started her career as a model, but was soon snapped up
by producers for film work. She made her debut in 1967 in The Mini
Affair with Georgie Fame. A few credits, and years, later; Hammer cast her in Taste The Blood Of Dracula with Christopher Lee as the blood sucking
Count.
Up Pompeii, The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins, Up The Front, Carry
On Matron and Theatre Of Blood with Vincent Price preceeded her casting,
in 1973, in Live And Let Die as sexy Italian spy, Miss Caruso - who falls
for Bond's magnetic charm.
Madeline remained extremely busy with film and tv work post-Bond, and
her credits embraced The Love Ban, Frankenstein And The Monster From
Hell, Percy's Progress, The Black Knight .... Doctor At Large, The Persuaders,
Jason King, Steptoe And Son and All Creatures Great And Small.
Although only on screen for a few minutes, her sexy role of Miss Caruso
remains a firm favourite with Bond fans young and old.
