Biography

Peter Lamont began his career in the early 1950s as a draftsman, Peter's films included Hotel Sahara, The One That Got Away, You Know What Sailors Are and then he progressed to set decorating on films such as The Bulldog Breed, Watch Your Stern and The Fast Lady.

In 1964 he began his most famous collaboration of all. As draftsman on Goldfinger he went on to work on a further 17 James Bond films as assistant art director, art director and, finally, Production Designer. The only five Bond films that he did not work on are Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Tomorrow Never Dies, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall.

Throughout his near 60-year career, Peter Lamont has been nominated for three Academy Awards for his work on Fiddler on the Roof (1971), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and Aliens (1986).

He was nominated a fourth time and won for Titanic (1997).

For his last James Bond film Casino Royale, in 2006, Peter was BAFTA nominated and today remains incredibly proud of his long association with 007.
